Canoe Kayak Shop How Long Would It Take To Kayak Or Canoe The Murray River (victoria/nsw)?

How long would it take to kayak or canoe the murray river (victoria/nsw)? - canoe kayak shop

A friend and I want to go in a canoe or kayak, the Murray, with a length of 2575 km, let's go with the flow. How long does it take? Advice or nothing from those who have made?

Hi,

In December I finished a two and a half month paddle along the length of the Murray. Started paddling in Biggara having walked from the source. Paddle was 2400km ish, between 12th October and 19th December averaging 40km each day. The upper section would take between 1-2 weeks. Take a look at www.thegreatbigpaddle.com for more info on my trip.
Good luck!

A typical weekend paddlers can perhaps make 30 miles per day. Someone that has significant training for a trip as you could consider doing has done 50 km or more. This means that without the help or hinder. If the current is important, what lessons can help themselves. No wind could slow up, and where to portage (for example, have, if you check the locks, or splashing Portage).

In any case, you are probably in a few weeks. You will receive an accurate answer, after a little planning and training. Perhaps a trip to see a short stretch of the river, what the pace.
